Hilarity

I believe that the Kissing Suzy Kolber site is the best sports blog out there right now. I mean if you are looking for all laughs and little in terms of real journalism covering sports. Which nowadays is really all I can stand with how terrible sites like ESPN.com have gotten. I typically go there a few times a week to check out the fantasy/sex mailbag and some of the rants that are done by current NFL players, coaches, and fans. Below is a link to speech Rex Ryan gave his team Monday morning coming off his big victory over the weekend. It is definitely worth the look, and while you are there, save the link to the site. You will not be disappointed.

I Was Afraid of This

Link

It looks like a lot some of the "shovel" ready projects that were green lit in the first stimulus package are not producing the jobs that were expected. The construction industry seems to be a bit behind the rest of the economy in terms of the recession, and the worst times may still be ahead.

I agree with many of you that have said on here that green industry and the development of "clean" energy is going to be the next big wave of new jobs in this country. I do have a feeling that many of these new jobs are going to be focused towards people with degrees, so if you are without a job, I would suggest looking at going back to school right now. I would assume the construction industry is one of the leading industries for people lacking a college degree in this country. Those people may be without jobs for a long time if not forever. As Sage Francis so elegantly stated, "the rich get richer, until the poor get educated".

Another Best Movie List

I have much respect for Roger Ebert as a film critic. More often than not we share a similar taste for movies. So I was suprised when our top 10 lists were so different. So I figured I would post his list in case anyone is in search of help updating there Netflix Queue. I am dying to see Hurt Locker.

Best of 09 Fail

Found this over at With Leather. College Humor put together some of the best "Fail" moments off 09. Not sure they were all from last year, but none the less it is the best fail compilation I have ever seen. I gurantee it will put a smile on your face.

Justin Townes Earle

I thought I'd share a cheerful pick-me-up from Justin Townes Earle. My wife and I, along with a group of friends, are going to his show at the High Noon Saloon in Madison on February 26, so I've been studying the material, so to speak. If you like authentic, traditional country / Americana type music, the show will be more than worth the $12 price of admission. This guy isn't exactly obsure anymore, just about 3 years into his recording career. His latest album, "Midnight at the Movies," is being named to many "best of 2009" lists, received a 4-star review from Rolling Stone, and he was nominated for three Americana Awards, winning Emerging Artist of the Year. He has a little crossover appeal as well, as "Midnight at the Movies" is approaching the Top 40 on the Indie charts.

This track is from his first release, the 2007 six-song EP titled "Yuma." This is the title track from the EP, and a real feel-good story, true to the old-timey country tradition. Enjoy.

Nic Cage as Everyone

I am not sure why I find this funny, but I guess if you photo shop Nic Cage face on any character it is pretty damn cool. I am a huge Nic Cage fan *cough cough dismissive wank motion* and he is such a good actor I could see him pulling off any of these characters. Here is my favorite.
