Hometown Sweethearts...

Well, since C$$$ and Big Tasty appear to be taking an unannounced, unapproved hiatus, I will fill a gap with a plug for a friend's band. The Hometown Sweethearts are probably the best party-cover band you will ever hear. They specialize in playing songs you know and can dance to, to rock any bar, wedding or party that can afford them. They have a standing gig in Manhattan right now and split time between Madison and NYC. They do a helluva wedding/party business as well. They are currently doing a homestand at their old haunt, The Crystal Corner. Four straight Friday nights at the Crystal. Look, I know it ain't bad-ass, original rock, but it is a helluva fun time and you will see the honeys shakin' it at their shows. Check the sample vid below. Watch it all the way through, lest you miss a pimp-ass song they do. They's got chops. Scottie B., the drummer, is an old friend who used to play with Mad Trucker Gone Mad, still plays with Lorenzo's Music, and a whole busload of other groups and studios.

These guys (with a substitute drummer) played at a wedding I was at in May. They are awesome and entertaining and also a lot of fun (we were seated with them at dinner). I would recommend them to anyone for sure.
